About Gemini 5
Gemini 5 is the next generation of Google's Gemini models after Gemini 4. It is significantly better than Gemini 4 Argon, Google's strongest model so far, and is built on more compute than any Gemini before: Google is speeding up its spending on data centers for it.
Gemini 4 Argon, released on September 30, 2026 and generally available since October 13, is Google's current flagship. Before Gemini 5, two more Gemini 4 models come out: Gemini 4 Carbon, built for code, and Gemini 4 Flash, the fast one.
Gemini 5 is expected in 2027.
