Claude is one of the most popular AI chatbots out there, particularly great at logic, coding, and reasoning — but what if, for whatever reason, you can’t use it and need an alternative?
Here are 5 alternative tools that can replace Claude:
Testing Methodology
We’ll be asking each model to “Count the e's in Entrepreneur”
This seemingly simple task is a doozy for AI models. While this example is contrived, it shows the model’s tendency to hallucinate, as in — make mistakes.
Models that can replace Claude will perform at least as well, while models that are inferior at logic will reduce or inflate the count.
Let’s test Claude to establish a baseline first:

Claude 3.7 counted the four occurrences of the letter “e” in Entrepreneur confidently and succinctly.
✅ Overchat
Why choose one alternative when you can have them all? Overchat is an AI ecosystem that integrates with ChatGPT, Mistral, DeepSeek, Grok, and other models.

You can choose from a variety of AI chatbots right from one interface — GPT 4.5, DeepSeek V3, and Alibaba’s Qwen 2.5-Max, among others, as well as Claude 3.7 Sonnet itself — as shown in the image above. There's also one of the best free AI chatbots.
Overchat can even do things that Claude can’t — generate images via one of our top 5 image generators:

Overchat pros:
- All AI’s in one place
- Text and image generation
- Easy-to-use
- Includes a free ai chat
❌ GPT 4.5
GPT 4.5 is the newest model from OpenAI, which excels at emotional intelligence. This means that chatting with it feels less like you’re conversing with a robot, and more like you’re talking to a real human. But how well does it do logic?

What a surprise! OpenAI’s most advanced model made a mistake — forgot the first capital E.
This doesn’t mean that the model is bad, though. It, for example, gets other things better than Claude, for instance, creative writing:

If you need to solve a math problem or logic problem, consider one of the top 6 GPT 4.5 alternatives. For creative writing or chatting, choose GPT 4.5.
GPT 4.5 pros:
- Sounds and feels more human than other AIs
- Understands context very well
- Excels at creative writing
- A great chat buddy
✅ DeepSeek V3
Unlike the models we’ve looked at so far, DeepSeek V3 is an advanced reasoning model. What does this mean in practice?
Instead of straight up giving you the answer, the AI continually queries itself until it reaches a conclusion. It can even correct itself if it makes a mistake. Here’s how it works:

In our test, it took DeepSeek eight steps to reach a conclusion, which was correct:

In real-world applications, seeing the model work out a conclusion can be very helpful, as this is very similar to how a human would solve a task. The downside? It takes more time.
DeepSeek V3 pros:
- The best for logic and reasoning
- A very accurate math AI solver
- Can catch its own mistakes
- Shows its thinking process
✅ Qwen 2.5 MAX
Qwen 2.5 MAX is a model from Alibaba, geared towards science, research and complex reasoning.

No wonder, then, that it easily passed our test — all 4 occurrences of the letter “e” are accounted for.
Though, it did make a small mistake highlighting the letters, but that’s a formatting issue, not lapse in logic.
Qwen 2.5 Max is a good Claude alternative for math and homework. You can easily use it to replace Claude — it’s highly accurate and reliable.
Qwen 2.5 Max pros:
- Strong logic and reasoning
- Gives answers quickly
- Very accurate
